Sri Jayawardenapura

Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte is the administrative capital (where the Parliament of Sri-Lanka is located) in Sri-Lanka and its located beyond the eastern suburbs of the commercial capital Colombo.

With the Diyawanna lake and lush greenery, its more like where the city meets the tranquility of the country side, and its also a bird sanctuary where you get a variety of birds visiting your garden.

Today a number of popular supermarkets, departmental stores, designer shops, five star hotels, International schools, sports clubs and many more attractions have moved into this area and also places like Pizza Hut, Baristar, Coffee Bean, McDonalds and KFC have opened up their branches.
You also get several sky scrapers with offices and apartments and there are a number of projects coming up. While Colombo city is getting over populated and polluted, this area is becoming the ideal place for you to build your nest and the perfect investment.

Like most parts of Sri-lanka, Sri Jayawardenapura is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious city & features a tropical rainforest climate, with little variation in temperatures throughout the course of the year.
The Kotte Municipal Council is responsible for road maintenance and door-to-door garbage collection in the city. They also are responsible for keeping Storm drains clean to cope with the heavy Tropical rains.
